Modica provides a charming occasion to experience

the old quarters, the Baroque palaces, the hundred churches

The city is also an excellent base for excursions to the many
spectacular spots southeast Sicily has to offer and the closeby
coast provides ample opportunity for enjoying the sandy beaches
of the clear Mediterrenean sea.

The apartment
'Terrazza' is part of an an old little house that has
been finely restored recently. It is located in an absolute
quiet quarter, in a pedestrial area some 200m from the
Piazza Santa Teresa, in the most ancient part of Modica,
which is called "Modica Alta", with stunning
views on the city.
The apartment features a living space with dining area
and fully equipped kitchen, a double sleeping room with
a balcony, and a bathroom with shower. It is furnished
with air-conditioning and a laundry machine. From the
terrace which is adjacent to the living space one enjoys
spetacular views on the city. |

Modica is among the cities of southeast Sicily
which recently have been declared World Heritage by Unesco acknowledging
its remarkably intact urban Baroque architecture. "The city
of hundred churches" has been rebuilt completely after the earthquake
of 1693 in a joyful Spanish Baroque style that captures the
eye and inspires the spirit. For centuries the center of South
East Sicily today Modica is a romantic little town that has
conserved plenty of authenic Sicilian charme and is an perfect
location for touring southeast Sicily.
